Launching sites to custom domainname

As I can't find a step by step manual how to use the custom domainname feature (and I'm not a dns expert) here an overview what I did to get this thing working.
1. created a site and published to custom domainname in bloxby system
2. added subdomain wildcard on host where bloxby is located
3. in DNS I added wildcard A record
4. on custom domain DNS I added an A record and CNAME record pointing to host where bloxby is located.
5. not working....
So what's next. It would be very handy to have some sort step by step manual (or video tutorial)
